Trapping Today Podcast #56: Marten/Fisher Line Updates and Listener Questions/Feedback

December 15, 2018 by Jeremiah 2 Comments

In this episode I give some updates from my big woods marten and fisher trapline.  I go over a number of topics we’ll be discussing in future podcast episodes.  I then read some listener emails and answer a couple of questions.  I also discuss my Long Distance Call predator call lure.

I always love to hear feedback from you guys, please feel free to shoot me an email at jrodwood@gmail.com.  I’m also going to be asking you what you would like me to create moving forward.  That could be a book, audio project, lure, etc.  I will be pursuing a project this winter, and would love your feedback.  More to come on a future episode.  Please email me with what you could benefit most from as a trapper.

Jeremiah I have a question, what books and DVDs by auther would you suggest. I’m from MN and can take 2 animals in a 6 day season. I have some of Bob Noonans DVDs and a small book.

      Hi Daniel,
Great question. There aren’t a great deal of books and dvd’s out there for marten and fisher. Noonan’s stuff is good. Tom Krause has a marten DVD that I haven’t yet watched. Brian Donaghy has a DVD, “A Maine Trapline”, which is well done. It includes all different species, but they catch a pile of marten and fisher. “Wilderness Trapping” by Mike Lapinski in Montana shows a neat marten set and is very entertaining. Hope this helps. I’ll be sure to overview some of these in future podcast episodes.
