If you’re looking for a break from the big time, hard charging competitive world of professional trapping, and just want to have some fun watching a water trapping video, John Chagnon’s Water Trapping DVD is for you.  In a little under 2 hours, John takes you on his northern Michigan water line, and demonstrates catches of multiple water animals while educating you on how he makes sets.

This isn’t an overly technical video filled with ground breaking information.  John is a laid back guy who loves to trap, and has fun doing it.  Video quality is great, and production is pretty good.  It’s fun watching John on his line, and if you don’t pick up on things quickly, his slow, methodical way of explaining his sets really helps beginners understand the key elements of water trapping.  I enjoyed the video and picked up a few ideas to try on my line.  I also found myself refreshed by the enthusiasm John still shows as a seasoned veteran trapper.  I think you will too.
